I am looking for a new motherboard as i think mine is fubared, big puff of smoke and a nice burning smell came off the pc a while back and ever since i have been getting BSOD that are screaming about 'Non_Page_Fault' which is according to the net either.

a. Fubared memory sticks.
b. Duff hard drive, or bad sectors on hard disk
c. Knackered L1 or L2 cache.

The following items have been tested and found to be fine.

1. 4 gigs of 1600Mhz DDR3 ram.
2. Geforce 460 graphics card.
3. Intel Quad core 3Ghz cpu using socket LGA775.

I am seriously limited on cash these days so have spotted this motherboard at a local store but not sure if its any good.

I am also looking at replacing my hard drive with

My current motherboard is a

I am not sure if the board i am getting is any better or any worse than i have or even if these two items will fix my issues but i cant play Lord of The Rings Online for more than 30 minutes without a crash.

Soup as the post said i cannot afford an upgrade at all got far to many things going on that are more important than a PC.

The cpu and card were brought when i had spare cash when Black Ops came out and at the time was the best i could afford and at the time a Geforce 460 with a gig of DDR5 ram on board was a good replacement for my ageing BFG260 and the Intel Core2 Quad 3Ghz cpu was a nice step up from a Intel Core2 Duo 2.4Ghz cpu.

Yes i would love and I5/I7 cpu with new motherboard a but i cant afford £160-£250 for a cpu and £140 for a motherboard, nor can i afford to by a solid state hard drive as money is at a premium and my family and kids come above all else even playing on the PC.

I have even gone back to Windows XP as it is running far more stable than Windows 7 64, not had one crash since i reverted to XP on my spare drive, so it is looking more andmore like a duff driver or possibly operating system install.

I wouldn't have thought so shorty .... Ill bet my left bollock that system(if it weren't broken)would play 99.9% of today's game at max graphics settings with 4x AA.

Although that CPU is a little long in the tooth it still aint too bad of a cpu, Damn there still aint even that many games out there that support more that a dual core! ... Quad supporting games are only just starting to be released really.

That GTX 460 is more powerful than the GTX 260 i had and even with my 260 i only had one game i couldn't run max settings and that was GTA IV and that was only because i didn't have enough video memory ...

Well i could run them max settings if you don't include AA ... Anything over 8x AA and my 260 would drop to its knees lol.

Anyway nice board, Cant go wrong with
Gigabyte or ASUS ... :1 (97):

Nice HDD too, I have one exactly the same. :1 (97):
