slight problem

having real lag and slow network, im suspecting a virus or messed up file cos its only in last few days. trouble is the pc i connect up to for net access aint mine, so limited on what i can do to it, flatm8 is happliy playing his bloody starwars but i get this...

makes it unplayable.

hope to install norton (yes he has no virus protection on it) and do some windows updates, failing that persuade him to let me format it, but downloads for his precious starwars runs to 2.5 gig.........>sigh< to wont happen. rant over if anyone knows any tips or tricks any help is welcome.

hmmm, gone even worse, JO now hangs on server list and cursor blinks back to windows cursor and gotta end the process to come out.......so im wondering if its me, lol

ran viral check, nothing, all updated and noticed that in last hour whole pc is sluggsih and everything takes its sweet time to do anything.

Get the latest Adaware and Spybot search and destroy also think about a firewall i use Zonealarm it's free.

when ur Pc is booted and has been running for 15 mins or so open an ms dos prompt from ur start menu and type netstat and hit enter,,

Copy and paste ur results into this thread or an email and I can tell U whats causing ur problem.

sussed the problem and our server pc is to be formated, theres a virus on it and our network is scrambled so this week we are getting hardware firewall and actually purchase some AV PDT_Armat:

doesnt help with all this damn spyware too.........
