Weapon Unlock advice.....

Just got my first weapon unlock..

A few to choose from, any advice or regrets from those of you that have already got yours?

it all depends on what you like playing as...

The PKM is good, but limited ammo - M249 SAW is better, I usually kill a GI then nick his SAW

L85A seems popular, but you only need kill someone to get one of those

M95 IS APPARANTLY POWERFUL, but... it's a sniper rifle!

The DAO12 seems good

The G3 certainly is worth the unlock, but you loose the firepower of the M203

G36C is going to be my next unlock

I already have three accounts with unlocks, and eventually I shall have all unlocked weapons available, albeit two with each account.

So the original statement is still true, depends on what you play as - I'm usually a gunner, with tendencies to Spec Ops and Anti Tank - as the need arises

g36c for me next i think, being as EA have promised to let spec ops gain points from blowing stuff up. :)

got the L85a, nice - but no showstopper.
thought about the M95, but as knives said re: the L85a - u can pick 'em up if you kill a sniper.

I Got The L85a And So Far I Havent Looked Back Its Got The Scope And Arrcarcy 4 It 2 Be Used As A Sniper In Fact I Take This Gun Instead Of A Sniper Gun If I Want 2 Go 4 A Snipe. Its Also Got 30 Rounds In The Mag So If U Come In Close Combat You Should Always Be Best Off. So This Is The Gun 4 Me :1 (97)::1 (99):

my next unluck would be for the medic, i dont know what gun it is, but i play often as medic

my first was the elite gun (again , dont know the name for that gun)

best is to take the unlock of the type of soldier that you often play :1 (99):

G36C is the dogs ******, very accurate and great stopping power, then the G3, pretty accurate and very high stopping power,

L85 is very accurate too but not too powerful

i dont have the game yet so i didnt know about all this unlocking buissness! is it just the weapons which you can unlock or is there more stuff? and is it hard to unlock the weapons?

yup, you score points for doing certain things, kills, flag captures, meding someone etc., these points can be used to unlock weapon 'upgrades', you get your first unlock at 1100 points
your next unlock at 10,000 points, then 25,000 etc.

to give you an idea about how hard it is, a game may last an hour, in a good game i might get a hundred points, in a bad game maybe 10. on average about 50.

so it can take maybe 20 hrs solid play to get your first unlock. maybe 200 to get your second.

to get all five unlocks is going to take you about 3 years solid play.

I'm about 1000 points (20 hours) away from my second unlock.

is it worth concentratin on getin upgrades then? ie scoring points? or is it beta just to have fun !

so far i've unlocked the pkm and when i use it (in city maps or CQB) then i dont have any problems - its more accurate than most of the other gunner guns, does more damage and when u lie down on a roof to cover a square - anything that runs across doesnt stand much chance, as for the limited ammo (100 round clip i think)... it doesnt matter as a gunner, all you do is chuck a ammo bag on the ground, reload you gun after a fight (not matter how many bullets are left), then walk over the bag et viola everythings maxed out , includin ammo bags.

Just cracked 10,500 and unlocked the G36C - first impression is its accuracy, even over distance.


Next unlock a distant 15,000 away...

No kidding on the admin thing. Twice now I've played in a clan server (one that I'm auto-loaded onto when startin BF2 - is there any way to prevent that??) and been kicked/banned for one or two accidental TK's.

One time I was TK'ed myself and because it was a really stupid thing the guy was doing, I flicked the noforgiveness button and I got kicked!!

I avoid the clan servers... like the plague. The aim ability goes like off, wandering scope, but the clan affiliates are not affected... weird. Also a good indication sommat is up is when the corpses like still stand there or lean in a weird way - I know its a bug, but it only seems apparant on clan servers... EA Official severs never seem to have it occur [I realise that the servers are rebooted at 3am and 3pm, maybe that its].


I don't trust the caln servers - for that reason Zarquon gave, just one team kill gets you either banned or at the very least kicked. Also the tank whores are very prevelant there, common

Some clans are better than others...

I tend to avoid 64 player servers, they lag like heck.

its more fun in the 16 or 32 players servers, when they use the plane's or choppers, and some ar good with it, then you can never reach the spawn:1 (43):
