im looking for a new video card for my son
he as around 50 / 60 pounds to spend on it
ide like realy to stick to a ge force card but im open to any help or comments
and a nice link or 2 would be wellcome
or if some of you have some time

Is the card for playing BF2? If not, what games does the card need to cope with. You might struggle to get a card for £50 - £60 that'll play BF2, but I'm not an expert.

and it says it need 128 memory on the box and there are some cards for around this price for 50 or so pounds but like you im not sure if there going to run bf2

had to do the same with my pc - upgrade graphs card to play bf2 - this is the 1 i got but they have others at site

You also might want to look at the "Battlefield bible" on this site too, it gives a rough idea of what type of card is best suited for playing the game.

just got one today
Sapphire ATi Radeon X700 256MB AGP
£84.60
from www.aria.co.uk
looks a ok card just have to wait and see
lol i know i said 50/60 pounds but....

That should do the trick.

But i would watch out for ATI drivers as they can be a bit iffy.

didnt uses the drivers off the cd i got the new ones from

My other card was a geforce fx5700le 128mb, cost me £50 from pcworld, i wouls struggle to play bf2.

also depends on yer CPU, if your running an athlon 64 or P4/HT you'll have extra grunt to make up for poor gpu performance, not much - but it helps...
