If you are having CI's after joining the BHD Server you need to have Argus 1.2m installed which is available HERE (http://www.action-inside.com/Section_Main/Download/downloads.php?sid=4&action=details&downloadid=217)
Work is continuing on this any problems other than CI's please post here.
As already stated CI's are caused by not having it installed, the server is trying look for your installed argus if it's not found then the connection times out and results in you getting the CI.

J tells me that if you are running msn at the same time it will also cause the CI's. Notepad and something else have the same affect if I read it right.

This might prolly not have any connection with IC's, i'm not sure anymore, but ever since Nova World closed for sceduled meintenance i'm unable to enter the game. After initial log in the game stops at "calculating ping 83%".
I've already e-mailed Nova support for the possible solution, but still got no reply there. Any idea what is going on or what is needed so I can play. Anyone else have similar problem?

bridget, just read ur post there. i was having the same problem, had to uninstall and reinstall the game. i was using zonealarm and when i changed that the problem stopped. dont know if this will be any help to u, but check ur firewall.

yesterday (monday, 23/01) when i was on TS and playing BF2, there was a guy on TS that did ask me the same thing, i told him to go to the BHD room and ask MILK but he couldnt get in.
i dont know if he could join later on or did ask one of you guy's.

i didnt ask his name, so i dont know who he was.

i try to asl JOKES in the game, but he couldnt read my messages because he was destroying the artillery :)

tell it where your game is located.

refresh server list, search for A TIN OF right click and choose Add
add to server list and click the BHD icon (at the right right of Server List: Default) which should launch the game. Goto multiplayer, join game and you should see a different lobby. Click on the A TIN OF link. which should warp you in the game

First of all, sorry Yodanski for not introducing my sefl, i'm Bridget's son Christian. I couldn't move to any lobby but public on TS so i left. Asked Oats about it and he comfirmed that others had same problem.
Xena, the problem remains same after reinstall/update. No zone alarm or similar programs working, and I've just a minute ago talked to Death who gracefully ofeed the same thing you Fuzzy wrote. Also thanks both.
Bridget can join the game now, thou the problem remains if going through Nova world wich i understand, you can't help about. We contacted Nova on the matter. She can play and that's all that matters :)

Looks like the problem remains with the server for running argus, I'll will be continuing various tests untill such times as all is resolved. Please bear with us, Hopefully when everything is sorted it will cut down on the Cheats a bit. :)

I played on our server last night at aroudn 9pm was argus 1.2m on then? (at this time I didnt have argus running)

So today I clicked Js argus link to download it (the link is argus version 1.1?) and installed it, everytime I go to play BHD it asks me to update argus so I do, then it wont let me on the game (closes it down) then I try again without updating (clicked no) because I've already updated (but it still says version 1.1....)

So I get onto the ATO server I play for about 1min then I get a CI, I rememberd this happend last time with argus?

All is fixed now, make sure you have removed all previous versions of argus, Click HERE (http://www.kazo-xxl.org/acp/Argus-installer.exe) to make sure you have the version 1.2m, when installing after agreeing to their stuff blahblah, choose install client/server option.
Been checking this all morning, with no CI's and no problems.
Last nights problems were a server side fault but has been fixed now.

Hopefully all runs well now ;)

hmmmmmmm, cant get playing, get on for a few minutes, then get ci. i have argus 1.2 installed, dont run any other program accept the game. any suggestions.

Okidoki This is gonna be a bit of a teethin problem, but realistically I/we can't sort out everything for everyone, but I would say the best place to start is your pc, the server has been fixed and is working perfectly after running tests on it most of today, have a quick look here (http://www.atinofsquad.com/vbforums/showthread.php?t=4086) and run the helper, now the best place to post the results you get from the helper would be at the argus support website which can be found here (http://www.df-commander.de/Argus/forum/index.php) If they can't put their finger on it straight away there's something wrong lol.

Maybe make sure your machine is running directX c?
Things to try would be maybe total uninstall of argus.
Files to remove manually would be:
APIClient.dll
Argushlp.dll
ArugsUPD
Once this is done the rename the nlAPIClient.dll to APIClient.dll
Then re-install argus 1.2m and choose client/server option, if you wish to remove this again you can do so by running the argus.exe again and choose uninstall.

Other than that If you want to try a full re-install of the game please do so, remember when your un-installing the game to delete either the Novaworld folder or if you have other nova games installed just delete the Delta Force Black hawk down folder, ( making a backup of any maps you may have made of course)
When your re-installing the game remember to install bhd then update bhd, then install team sabre then update team sabre and apply argus to it.

Hopefully these small issues can get easily resolved, as i know what a pain they can be. :)

Blast! Ever since I installed Argus 1.2m, I get 5-10 second game-freezes every minute or so, ultimately lesding to a CI and an excessive-ping booting.

The odd thing is, this only happens on A Tin Of; two other BHDTS servers give no such problems--and I've tried numerous times. Dunno what to do now... I'd hate to have to leave the best BHD server on the 'Net!

The idea of going back to noobidom with BF2 doesn't sit well, either...

hehehe, well thats true, u might have got rid of some of the cheats, but the reason im not on anymore is cos it messed my system up. slowed everything right down, and even removing it didnt speed me up, had to do a restore back to before i had it in to begin with. and every time i put it back in, i slow down again.
have been playing on a few other servers (not as friendly as the tins i might add) and players there r saying argus doesnt even stop the cheats anyway. cos other servers r talking about becoming argus servers.
i dont mind having it in, if it didnt slow me down so much. so until i find something that helps that, i wont have it back. so if u've any ideas how to stop it slowing my system down let me know.

Would like to add something.
What Xena wrote also happens here, however, in the past few months (i think around october), maps tend to laag more often, some were unplayable. It was in time when the new maps kicked in, before that everything went smooth. I'm reaching maybe far here, could it be possible that argus doesn't react well to the maps ?..

A new list of maps are on their way.
No Anti cheat software has to date been able to stop all cheats, but at least Argus cuts the noobs choice of cheats down. :)

I stopped by your server today to say wassup and got a ci. Figgured it was because I was on the west coast and has a high ping.

apparently since the installation of argus the server has been empty on most nights (at least every time i checked - except once when there were 4 players in).

guess this is another victory for the cheating lamers ... :(

I do agree with you Fuzzy dude, but if Nova did make a patch or mod with a anti cheat programme all our problems would be solved.

We lost a few players the 1s time round when we had argus, and this time wiped us out. Although yes we get the occasional player but I've stopped playing in the server yes due to lack on players but also A level course work.

At the start when we did have around 10players with the new Argus on it was good no cheats and how the game should be played properly. But over the weeks numbers have dropped. We can't entierly blame argus though BF2 took alot of regulars and tins too.

Well the way i see it is..... The server is no longer a safe haven for cheats....

Kinda funny looking at these posts.
A small program to download - no great hassle
Install's in a split second - again no great hassle
Causes no extra lag, or imesnse memory hoggin etc.
Members have tested it etc and they have no problems with it.

So it makes me wonder what is the big hassle about it all?

Remove argus? let the regular cheaters back in.
Cheating is a big part of the game's downfall along with the lack of support from novalogic to do anything about it and then there's the glitches.
Personally to me the games dead and out dated, maybe if most of the bad glitches were to be fixed it would be a bit more popular but i wouldn't hold my breathe on anything like that happening.

Even though it may just be a small piece of software that just needs downloading and installing, some of our regulars don't know English too well, So they may not understand what they have to do.

I had problems with argus as you know death, I needed the new NOCD patch and New DirectX, and those certain components some people may not know how to use/know how to get hold of them.

But our regulars should know where to go for help. But some/most havn't bothered and just play on other servers.

the server being empty now, is just an indication about how many cheaters there are out there. Nevertheless none of them seems good enough to kick my ass big time.

i have also played on other servers lately (none as good as the ATO server i might add), and yes i've seen cheats (alot of them even), and i've seen them get banned as well. There's also suspicious players every now and then that seem to have fired before you were in their sight and seem to know where your clays are (chams anyone).

But in the end it dont matter as you play as a team and try to win.

All the game needs is alert players who can reach an admin (or a patch from nova - although it's more realistic to wait till you have <insert-fav-supermodel-here> in your bedroom then waiting for that ;) )

Argus may be "simple little program" but I had endless troubles with it on my system. I couldn't really play with it installed, so I went and installed BF2. Only after Argus was removed was I able to come back to the A Tin Of BHD server. Seems to me that cheats were never a big problem--when there were a bunch of Tins in the server to punt the punks as and when necessary....

By the way, at the rate I'm going with BF2, I'll still be wanting to play BHD on and off for at least another year--I don't think I can take being a total n00b again without having some fun once in a while!

my system isnt good enough for it (tried it but had corrupt graphics due to the crappy geforce 5600 card), and i'm just not in the mood to spend 300 € (1GB memory + new gfx card) to update it just to be able to play BF2. If i update it'll be after the summer with 2GB of RAM, new HD's and a better GFX card. But i'm still wondering what game will be popular then :)

i am planning to get a new grafics card, i have now a FX5600XT with 128 Mb, and i gone get me a XFX 6600GT or a XFX 6800GS with 256 Mb.
i can play with no probs now but i have to put everything on low, and i play with 800x600, so i dont lag to much.

it is worse when i plat BF2: SF
but with my new card it will be better to play.
witch and when i get the new card i dont know, but it could be this month, so i am ready to get that boosterpack.

then it will be more difficult to survive me on the battlefield :-)

wasnt talking about just a gfx card, i also need additional RAM (512 isnt gonna cut it i'm afraid), besides it's in € currency. I'll try to reinstall the game tonite and see if driver updates fix the graphics corruption. If it's kinda playable (AT LEAST 20 FPS), maybe you'll all die a bit more in the future lol :D
