first tuesday of november. Election day.

If your an American get you butt out and vote!!! I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote WITH conviction FOR your candidate. Bush and Kerry already voted so get out there!!!

Let's hope the election is clear cut. If it goes to litigation like in 2000 I think I'll puke.

I'm gonna go to the bar and watch while drinking heavily.

VOTE NERF HOFFELMEYER !!!! http://www.nerfhoffelmeyer.com

no actually I voted for Bush because Kerry sets off my bad character or "personality" alarms. I don't like his waffling attitude, Clintonian ways, or his lack of any coherent plan. Bush must be doing something right, the only alqueida attack was a video tape of Osama. Osama is for Kerry or so he said in his terrorist attack tape. I figured we would get what spain and the phillipines got.......but then again its only 3 pm here in Texas, lots of day left.

Godspeed to the winner. It's in the hands of the people and the vote of the states now. I have heard on the radio the lines are upwards of 3 hours. I myself waited more than an hour at early voting last week; normally the early voting line is closer to two minutes than 1.5 hours.

As you know each state is a winner take all affair. whoever wins in the state gets the electoral votes of the entire state at the electoral college. Thats why its called the United States of America, not the United People of America  Direct democracy is a dangerous thing, the mob rules

(If you listen to fools, the MOB rules!!!)

An obvious issue with events in Iraq was that the advice given about WMD etc. has turned out to be 'questionable'.

There are clearly many, many people on the President's team giving him the information and advice on which he bases his decisions. So although the President makes the ultimate big decisions, his team are critical to these.

So ... why do he candidates not make more of their ability to pick a strong team to help them? Because no matter how brilliant they are as an indivdual in other ways, if they can't pick a good team and listen to them, the overall result will still be crap.

Maybe they did do all that and I just missed it, cos it was all dragging on a bit in the end.

It is good to see such a big turn out for this election. Pity there wasn't a stronger choice. Kerry looks like a creep to me.

All I got to say about WMD is everyone I mean EVERYONE thought he had them. Saddam said he had them. He kicked out the inspectors. He acted like he had them. The US, Germany, France, and Russia all have reciepts for the (WMD) stuff we gave or sold to him to kill Iranians. He gassed the Kurds. He gassed Iranians in the Iraq/Iran war. Clinton said he had them. The UN said he had them. When UN inspectors would go to a site predator/sattelite photos showed the UN going in the front and 18 wheeler Trucks of stuff going out the back. Just before the G2 war sattelites got pics of LARGE convoys of trucks going to Syria. Either the stuff was moved, buried, or Saddam was bluffing the whole time so ass to stave off his neighbors (Iran/Syria). I don't have much stock in the UN after I found out about the currupt oil for food program, they can f*** off just like the "league of nations". Nevermind the fact that the countries like france, germany and russia were also in on the money stream of that currupt program. No wonder they opposed it. Also why is stopping the killing fields a good enough reason for bosnia, yet not a good enough reason for Iraq?? Are they not worth as much because they aren't Europeans? Saddam made a solemn vow that he would attack the US. I know many middle eastern people and when they make a promise or a solemn vow, they mean it. Invading Iraq stopped the money stream into terrrorist activities. It also closed down training areas. So much of that wonderful money coming from the oil for food program was getting funneled into fulfilling his promise. oh yea, and building castles. Putting the war in Iraq also diverted the terrorist attention to our army instead of our homeland. "Let em come" was part of that strategy. Our army is fully capable of taking care of itself. If you have rats in your house, do you chase them around with a glock? No you set out rat traps, IE Iraq. We have lost about 1000 military in over a year. We lost thousands on D day, and we lost 15,000 in 3 days in Iwo Jima. More people die in car wrecks per year in any one state than have been killed in Iraq. Conversly, we have eliminated Thousands and thousands of our enemies. Eliminated enemies are no longer a problem. I fully beleive Bush believed the 15 years of intelligence that he was fed. From his intelligence, Englands Intelligence, and the UN's intelligence.

Sorry bout the rant but i have strong feelings in this area and the appeasers are gonna do what we did with hitler, and looked what happened there. thats a place I dont wanna go.....

Down boys!

Kinda missed the point of my post entirely. I wasn't making any judgement about Bush or the rights or wrongs of the war in Iraq. Salmon is right to say this isn't the place for that discussion. The fact is that none of us has or had all the information the various country leaders had at the time. Nor are we under the pressures they were. I don't think any of us are actually qualified to be wise after the event so I don't have any more time for armchair politics than for real politicians.

The actual issue I was trying to discuss was that ANY administartion requires a strong TEAM, not just an individual - and why don't Presidential candidates (or Prime Ministers for that matter) make more of this?

If anyone starts ranting about their personal views on the war etc. again I'll just lock this again, but is the 'team' issue not a valid question?

I thought the original post was ok, - it wasn't taking any sides, just commenting on the process. But I agree any sort of discussion on politics is potentially a problem. My first post was meant to wander off onto the GENERAL subject of teamwork because I see a lot of teamwork issues in working life and I'm interested in the subject. It's obviously relevant to the game too.

Unfortunately it promted a response that was MORE political rather than less, which was not what I had meant at all. Completely agree that this is not the place for party politics, war issues, etc. I'll save the teamwork discussion for some time when it can't get confused with politics.
