Naw Jar it won't make any difference whatsoever to how your Rig runs!!...
Just keep an eye on how the system boots up as you add more lovely
power hungry fans and lights etc etc!...
If the ligths stat to dim and flicker alot as you boot up,then you might
need to start thinking about upgrading your PSU,Alternatively do what
i do & just wait till it explodes!!...Then you'll know for sure!!...

Sure it will make a differience. Depending on what hardware you are running. Most newer configureations will require upward of 400 to 450. And if your Overclocking at all you need more Voltage.
If your rig crashes or your having studdering graphics then ya a power shortage could be your prob.

The reason i stated it wouldn't make any difference was because JAR
didn't mention that he has any specific problems running his rig right now!!...
So upgrading a power supply when the one you have is coping
fine with the load will make no difference to how the rig runs at all!!...
He hadn't mentioned any future plans of overclocking either,so why
waste valuable Beer Stamps unless theres a need??...Hey!...Maybe I'm wrong!...

as stated above, if you are planning to upgrade to a new grfx card or add extra hard drives or fans or anything else that draws power, then yes a new power supply would be good, else, as also stated above - dont bother. ;)

I,ve only got a 350w p/s and looking to upgrade and it mentions here..
http://techreport.com/reviews/2004q2/geforce-6800ultra/index.x?pg=2
And that NVIDIA recommends a power supply rated to at least 480W for the GeForce 6800 Ultra, do i need to upgrade to a p/s of at least a 480w.
I dont have any extras running on the computer.
And where it says
NVIDIA recommends a power supply rated to at least 480W for the GeForce 6800 Ultra, and the two molex connectors should come from different rails on the power supply, not just a Y cable.
What does this mean? :?:

Some of the power leads from the PSU have multiple connectors along the length. This saying not to use the two connectors off a single cable, but to use two completely different cable runs. I think. The 6800 must have 2 power connectors?

yup, two connectors and 480w is a must for that card.

Do i need to buy a p/s with as many separate power leads as i can get ?
or is it the case the higher the p/s the more leads are supplied.

These new Power supply's are going to be the default where you can only add as many molex connectoprs as you need.

They are even getting cheap in price. This 480W Antec is only arround $100. bones. I bought a Vantec stealth 470w a year and a half ago and it was $250.00
