i have it allready, just a few settings to change, and i can start killing.

we can add friends too, so we have to know each others names to add.

so we can find each other on the servers.

mine is still yodanski

we have to make a list here to put or names in that we use.
so we can add them to or friends list.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts. I’m sorry for the difficulty that you are having with The Battlefield 2142 game.

We are aware of the confusion concerning In Game Advertising functionality in Battlefield 2142. The Dice Live Team has put together the following explanation of what IGA does in the game and how it works.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We would like to provide more information on in-game advertising in Battlefield 2142. To try and help everyone better understand it, here is how it works.

The in-game advertisement is respectful of players' privacy: it never accesses files not directly related to the game, and it does not capture personal data such as cookies, account login detail, gameplay behaviour or surfing history. As it is an integrated part of Battlefield 2142 and not a separate program, it only runs when the game is running.

Because BF2142 delivers ads by region, the IP address of the player is used to determine the region of the player and helps serve ads by region and language; for instance, a player in Paris will be presented with ads in French. Note that this IP address is not stored on the advertisement server and is not repurposed for other uses.

A unique ID number is anonymously assigned the first time the player joins a Battlefield 2142 online game. It is stored locally on the PC but is not linked to any personal details.

The in-game advertisement gathers what we call “impression data”, such as location of the billboard in the game or duration of advertisement impression. It helps see how many people have seen an ad – but not who has seen it.

We are also conscious that the advertisement shouldn’t distract the player from the overall gaming experience, so all ads fit in the unique environment of each level in the game. The content of the ads is also controlled to ensure that no offensive content is displayed in Battlefield 2142.

We all hope that this explanation will address recent concerns on the advertisement in Battlefield 2142.

See you on the Battlefield.

Your Dice Live Team"

I was under the impression that AOL IPs were shared across regions, in which case this wouldn't work for AOL users. May be wrong about that though.

I see that first link has a screenie of the piece of paper that comes with the game. It notes that adverts may at times be coming from servers not in the same region you're in, e.g. adverts may come from a USA server. Wonder if that could lag things up at times?

Everybody was moaning that starforce was in toca3, i had toca and if it did install starforce i didnt notice anything, i think the same will go for bf2142, ive installed and playes it for 30 mins or so up to now, whatever In Game Advertising functionality it uses i didnt notice anything, ive tried 3 different servers and got good ping times, i think i will really get to love this game, i wasent to sure about the futuristic stuff at first but it really is fun.... something different, i think its a awsome game, if you like bf2 i think you will love bf2142, havent seen any jets yet though RED lol, the veichles/aircraft are alittle easier to drive/fly but there fun stuff to..... must say up to now i love it.

I doubt I'll be getting it any time soon. Currently having fun on Auto Assault (car based MMORPG) so I'm not on BF2 either. If I do get it, like if I get drunk and order it off play.com (I've bought stuff that way before), my name will be aardfrith.

I got it yesterday from the EA downloader.. Played for a couple of hours last night and loved it,

I like the way U can actualy kill people in this game and the TiTan mode makes for a more BHD game play from within the TiTan ships.. Also think its great the way you can assign diff attributes to diffrent blokes.. So I can be an Assult dude and still equip the medic paddles woot!

( Been bored of not having a FUN game to play recently ... This will deffo fill a gap untill something good comes out again! )

Im with you soupy, it deffos looks better than bf2 id even say it runs smoother, weapons, kits, veichles and everything are all awsome.... i wouldent say it was better than bf2 but its deffos just as good as, just something different to play, i though i was gonna hate it my self but like soupy i totally love it, dont knock it till you have tried it and dont judge the full version on the beta, the full version hammers the beta version!
