Nice card, your mate should have no probs with 2142 with that card...... well providing your CPU/RAM is enough to cope!

Hi all
Back to square one with the graphics card he bought, it needed its on power which he new , he bought a new power supply but Sony power supplies are smaller than the standard.

When looking for a graphics card except for looking at the picture how do we know it needs its own supply?.

Does anyone know if there is much difference between the 6600 7600 7800 cards and do they need there own supply as now we are looking for a card that will run Battlefield 2142 that does nt need its own supply.

Any help would be brill thanks.

You would be better getting a new power supply as it will still be using alot of power

Only a small power supply 280watts.

lmfao that wouldnt even power my fan,,,dude if i were u id be looking for a new power supply as any decent graffix card needs its own power and that just aint got enough power in it...these are very good

Most pci-e gfx cards will need there own power supply, there is afew that can get the power from the pci-e slot BUT the card that needs its own supply will be better

I have the same psu as in stones pic the hiper type R sli ready, only mine is red, 580w of power.... try to get a good psu.. will be better for you in the longrun!

Thanks for the help guys , the only problem is the Sony power supplies are small, and the gap is to small to install a standard p/s.

Contacted Sony they were no help at all.

So you need a new case?

A TIN OF OATS

I'm wondering if that PC is gonna be upgradable to do what you want now. If there are more dedicated components in there to fit in confined spaces you might have have a problem even if you stuff it all in a bigger case (easy to do and not expensive normally btw).

Might be as well to post the full spec of that Sony BLUE - maybe a pic of inside the case too?
