Thats artifacting, could be a number of things....

Try uninstalling the drivers using driver cleaner pro and re installing the latest ones, i use these drivers >CLICK ME (http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=67&Itemid=41/)<

Try re-seating the card.

What temps does the card run at under load?... check the cards heatsink/fan for build up of dust... this could cause overheating!

How old is the card?... sometimes on older cards the white compound cream on the GPU can dry up after a while causing overheating!.... you may need fresh compound!

Have you overclocked it at all? if so put it back to stock settings.

Try underclocking the memory alittle!

Does it happen in anyother game? or 3DMarks?

Can you try it in another pc?

Hows youp PSU holding out?... if your psu is on its way out then it might not be supplying your card enough power, i know that it can cause problems like that along with random restarting/system lockups and so on!

In my opinion its either overheating, bad/corrupt driver install/uninstall or you cards memory is knackered!

Try running 3DMark06 to see if it artifact/freezes!

I had exactly the same probelm a while back, i uninstalled the nvidia drivers, ran driver cleaner pro in safe mode, uninstalled BF2142 and the folder in my documents!.....

Reinstalled the latest drivers then re installed BF2142 and ive never had a problem since.... ive just put it down to a bad/corrupt driver install/reinstall!...

Oh.. i almost forgot!..... try underclocking your memory! theres no way they can tell if you have over/underclocked a card!... if you underclock the memory and it stops id say the cards ram is knackered! RMA it!...... i had a 7900GTX 512MB that was doing a very similar thing... seems to be the xfx brand thats got alot of memory problems ive heard of afew others that have had problems with the xfx brand...... im so glad ive got a EVGA!

Sounds heat related to me.
Underclocking should bring the temps down that is what Jar is thinking I guess

If I do ALT TAB when I'm playing BF2142 on high video settings, and look at the Temp of the graphics card ...its 52-56º..... so do you still think heat is the problem?

[QUOTE=A TIN OF SALAMI;58803]52-56[QUOTE]

At those temps underload its not overheating!...... ill bet the card has samsung memory!.... known faulty ram!

My evga 7950GT 512MB runs hotter that that under load and it has a copper heatsink!... gfx cards can acutually run in the 80c-90c's... its not idead but they can.

If i was you i would RMA it, ill put money on the memory being knackered!

Nope, its a GT its faster that a stock 7600, all they have done is took a stock 7600 and factory overclocked it slightly and added a nice GT name to make it sound good lol, in the factory they can only stress test it overclocked if for afew hours, salami has had it for 3 weeks..... the memory cant cope is my bet, knock the memory down to 1.0GHz and see if it still does it, if not then yip the memory has broken because its been overclocked to high!... the only way it can be heat related is if the heatsink is not flush with the memory!

I dont think its the GPU processor its self... the artifacting looks different than that!

As i said ill bet its samsung memory! alot of gfx brands changed from the samsung because it was faulty!........ thats what you get for buying a XFX lol,,,, get a EVGA!

Oooo samsung memory funny you should say that

We had a load of servo drives go faulty because of a manufacturing fault at the samsung factory.. 2 weeks of samsung production affected 1 years worth of servo drives.... completely irreverlent but I thought I would say....
