Hi all, can ya help me plz....
Ive reformatted my computerbecause it was unusually slow. So, its all nice and fast etc but the sound seems to be playing too fast. E.G music- on windows media player, and winamp is playing at about twice the speed. Msn bleep thing is higher in pitch, wich means its faster.

Any1 got any idea y?

If you have Intel AC'97 audio or similar, the solution, one solution iis as follows:

Update Intel chipset

Update the audio driver by clicking Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager->Sound, video and game controllers->AC'97 Audio codec->Driver->Update->Windows Update

It will offer to install SoundMax - that may work.

You could also try disabling 16bit sound on your card.

If these do not work, use Google to search for a solution - there are threads in forums that it will pick up.

Bilbo.

make sure you're using the correct drivers, try the ones on the mainboard cd (i assume sound is onboard)

an other option is to disable hardware acceleration

start -> run -> dxdiag

click the sound tab

and move the slider on that page

go to ur control panel then sound effect manager and the 'KEY' should be set to 0, sounds like you have it at +1 instead
