Ax some of you may have realised by now, my technical expertise could probably be measured along with my hair in that its lacking. I have therefore swallowed my pride and decisded to ask for some help on two what I would deem to be technical matters.

1. Does anyone know of a way of recording just the sound track of an already existing film. This is a film that I have made which we need the commentary off to use a s a teaching aid.

2. I have had to get a new phone and therefore would like very much to unlock my old phone which is a SPV C600 from Orange. I have tried various sites which appear to be quite helpful up until they start becoming all geeky on me using expressions and words that leave me confused as well as annoyed. Could anyone point m,e in teh direction of a good friendly site, or if you have the time work out what it is I have to do myself and write it on this forum in a way I might just understand it.

Many thanks.

Compo, well... don't lissen to the rest of these bozo's... Lissen to me! Now then, as far as recording the audio. Get yourself a nice big microphonium. Get a BIG speaker. play the movie and be quiet while you record it on a dark green Bang & Olufsen. Hit the big red button! Or, if ya wanna, ya can put that DVD on a good ole BSA turntable with a REEL sharp stereo needle. Like a Shure S-34 er so. Play that DVD and the music oughter come right off and sing for ya. Record it on a good ole vintage reel ta reel if your a real cannonball. If your just a wanna be geek then use a cassette tape. If your inta retro, use a 4 or 8 track cassette recorder! WOW!

Now, about the phone. If my phone was orange, I wouldn't like it either. You wanna get a nice silver, or black or a nice man kinda color. Not some sissy-fied orange. You are a real 'fella' aren't ya? Not some kind of cream puff? We'll assume your a regular feller... I'd just spray paint the orange. If you can't do that, go to some bar and hang out 'till some old boy that has the same type of phone (but not orange) tips over with the effects of the evening. Pick up his phone off the bar and swap the case. Be a good samaritan and stick his 'new' orange phone in his back pocket. Some 'fancy boys' 'll find him, take him out back and bend him over a barrel for a turn er two, but at least your phone aint orange anymore.

Yep, just ask, I always have the bestest advise!

Tango I cant thank you enoug for that fantastic advice. I shall probably go for the simple big microphone option as this seems a fairly cheeap choice. The money I save I could actually use to help get the old fella worse for wear . The only stumbling block appears to be that I dont hang out in the same type of bar as you where there are 'fancy boys'.

Lean pickings but you're welcome to them. Can't do this weekend though - off on holiday from Saturday to Friday. Tomorrow is ok. Failing that the week after.

What'cha say there? Ya'll don't hang out in bars where there are 'fancy boys'? Hell, I was hopin you were drunk... How else would ya end up with an orange phone??? Just in case you don't know, just in case you were raised in a cave and live under a rock, ya'll can always tell a 'fancy boy' by their shoes. Ummm, just what kind of shoe ya'll got on, anyway?

Tango is probably wondering exactly what you mean by 'slippers'. I bet that means something completely different out in the US of A.

For his benefit ... slippers are the soft comfortable things you put on your feet to make the statement 'I'm going nowhere and doing nothing strenuous for a while honey'.

Thanks Oats, yep, sometimes I have to 'translate' English into Californian. LMAO! If it's too strange I can ask my neighbor three doors down. A Scottish family. They've been here about 30 years. We do have slippers here, though. My fav's are my grandsons. He has a 'puppy' pair that barrk and a Thomas Train pair that have a train whistle when he jumps. He had a pair of 'Cars' movie slippers also, but they didn't make any noises.

Here's something different... Most male adults wear zories or sandals instead of slippers most of the year in the warmer areas of the west. Slippers are just to hot!

OK, slipper lesson over! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
