PB problem

when i open BF2142 and join a server, i get latley this message before i get kicked out of the server.
not exacly kicked but i cant play in it.

the message is:
"PB INPORTANT: RESTRICTION: Losing key packets (A)ffff0001"

what dous it mean?
i download the game via EA link, updated it, so there should no problem with it.
but sometimes i get this message.

You need to manually update PB HERE (http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/windows/pbsetup.exe)

ALso you nee to ensure that PnkBstrA & PnkBstrB have not been disabled in windows Sevices

in the Processes Tab of Task Manager.

If they are not there after running 2142 they might be disabled, in which case you need to run Services in the Admin Tools in control panel. and set them both to Automatic.


If they are not in the List of services then you need to update punkbuster.

with me its all in dutch, so its gone take a while to fond out what the dutch names for that is before i can find that.

i did updated PunkBuster, but to find that to set it on automatic, thats gone be a long day.

If you are losing packets have you tried looking inside your computer case to see if they are there?
They sometimes spill out of the side of routers and modems too...Pesky little things those packets...Key ones are even worse...

See, this thread just sums up what bugs me about BF games. What ever happened to 'stick the CD in and play'? Why should you have to go through all this techno-geek stuff just to play a game? If I wanted to do all that stuff I'd have bought the Idiots Guide to Windows XP and read it from cover to cover.

No wonder so many people buy Playstations etc.

well, i am thinking never buy a game online and to download it.
i will wait now untill i can buy the game in a store so i have the key, the cover and the dvd to install it.

i did buy BF2142 via EA downloader, but then you dont have a key.
you just can download it again and install it when you loose it or reformat .

and my english is not that good and i am not a pc genius to find and solve the problem.

i recently reinstall the game because i had an exe problem.
i couldnt open the game.
i think i gone reformat my pc one of these days.
but first i gone open my case to blow the dust uot and see if everything is still good connected inside.
but thats for in the future day's when i am in the mood to do so.

first i gone try to get that bloody game working again.

i am not gone do anything about it, i install the game, i played the game, it all works fine, then the stinking PB f**** up.
they can solve it there selves, i didnt pay for a game to solve there problems.

it maybe works now, but i am not gone test it.
maybe tomorow.

Most of the guys from scum have had this problem too. We have just been restarting and ignoring it and it has gone away :)
