Having seen you all performing the old 3dMark tests on your systems I decided to follow your lead and see how my 5950 Ultra was performing!!..

Though when I went to whichever mirror I chose (Can't remember the name??)...It ended up going to take me like an hour to download it on said nasty ass slow mirror!...So I stopped it!...

Though on rerturning to my desktop I found it had left the wee square file thingie named "3dmark05_v100_installer",having stopped the download it obviously wasn't going to be functional so I tried to delete it!...No Joy!!...Can't delete, rename or move it??...Keeps telling me its in use by another person???...or another programme?...I simply want shot of it people!...Any ideas?...No doubt it's something very simple I'm missing!...

Any ideas??...

Thanks Memnoch!...

Check whats running in the background tsak's, anything that should not be there close them then try and delete it. Failing that reboot and when it's booted up then try deleting it. Should work. ;)

Thanks for the reply DEATH but I've tried all that already dude!!...

Rebooting, rebooting safe mode,no unusual tasks,ad-aware,stinger,spy-bot,Panda Titanium Antivirus full scan the works, though none of the mentioned turn up anything malicious it's still a pain in the poo poo hole not being able to get rid of it!!...:evil:

Although when I look into the properties of the file itself all the options of what I take are the fully functioning controls of the full download are there!...Though when I try to run the installer it gives an invalid or missing file path & the file in itself appears to = "0 bytes"??... :?:

Anyone?....Anyone?....

Thanks Memnoch!...

Maybe you can try to use system restore, and restore your system to the date that it did work? :;):

Tried going into msconfig and looking for anything that might be starting up when you boot? Clear the check box of anything you're not sure about and reboot. Then try deleting or uninstalling.

System restore is probably the easiest, like Bigshow said - if you have it on.

Thankya kindly DEATH,BigShow & OATS for the advice!!...

Having tried all your suggestions to no avail, and numerous frustating attempts to get shot of the wee dirty bird in DOS I eventually Googled it (I know I know!...Should have done that in the first place!) and after reading up on the problem found me a wee utility called "MoveOnBoot"...

Simply drag the offending file into the wee window give it the command, move or delete, execute then simply reboot!...

And as if by majic,Roberts your Mothers brother!!...GONE!!!... :mrgreen:

With no apparent side effects!!...(Early days yet mind!...I'll let ya's know if it explodes!)

Cheers Lads!!... ::P:
