Gaming keyboard & mouse advice

Hey guys,

I've been looking at one of the logitec gaming keyboards. I was wondering if any of you guys use one, and if so if you have any advice?

What do you use the programable keys for, how easy to set up etc?

I have both the Logitech G15 v2 gaming keyboard & the Logitech G5 gaming mouse.

They are both the best ive ever used, The keyboard what you are asking about ... Its best feature is by far the backlit buttons that i couldent live without now, Extra programmable G-keys for games that may need afew extra buttons like world of warcraft or age of conan for example ...To be honest though if you only ever play games like cod4/5, bf2/2142, css, toca 3, command and conquer ect you will probabaly never use the G-keys(i dont).

The LCD GamePanel can be pretty usefull, at the desktop it can show the date, time, how many emails you got, news(press a button and it will bring that news up in a web page) ... it can show cpu & ram usage. In games i.e bf2142 it will show whos in your squad squad, whos left, kills, deaths how many bullets in your clip, your rank, server and more.

If your in a game and somebody says something in xfire and you dont have time to to pres X & scrol lock to reply back just have a quick look down an its on your lcd screen, theres also loads of addons/mods check out here >http://www.g15mods.com/<

there you can find addons/mods for almost everything, i.e get your local weather on your lcd screen, get whos in the teamspeak channel your in, whot currently talking, who joind & leaves.

All in a great built quality keyboard as you would expect from logitech.

i use the Microsoft X6 keyboard and the Logitech G9
the keyboard is very good has adjustable backlights and you can swap the number pad on left or right
the G9 has a wieght system and 2 different skins for the body of the mouse

Couple of questions...

The screen sounds interesting, but does it show me where Bob from Accounts' big ol' rocket is coming from, or how many times i've TK'd poor Gummi, or where Milk is waiting to ambush me?

The extra buttons could be useful, do people post templates of useful functions or would I have to do this myself, I have a short attention spa...oh look, a butterfly!
