mw2 lost ranks

well isen steam great.. iv just gone to play mw2 and iv lost all my ranks. iv gone from 56 to 1. tryed doing what steam say on ther so called support site but it just dosnt work. iv got a back up of the game i made befor this hapend but i cannot find out how to use it..

can any one helo?

i presume that ur account is held off ur pc in a steam server

if that is so then ur having a back up wont help

on a brighter note u can now do all ur challanges again

Its probably the TIN lag factor catching up with you and Steams suddenly realised that over the past few weeks you have been hanging out with a bunch of fat biscuit eating laggers and its reset you stats for being around us lol

I’ve been looking on the net and it seems this has happened to a lot of people.
Before I lost everything I had made a back up of my game files thru steam. But that did not work. I also followed what steam say about the problem but that seems to be a crock.
It’s too late for me to fix it now but from what I can understand all the mw2 multi player data is kept in two places in the steam file. SteamApps & userdata. If you keep back up up-to date copies of these you should be able to past them back in the steam file if you do lose it all and not have to do what i now have to. I’m just glad I was only level 56 and not higher.

i just spoke to my mate last nite when i got home from work and here is what he told me ( numpty has MW2 )

" The only thing is now, i was playing MW2 and i was put into what a though was a normal service a killed 2 people and it maxed my level up to 70 and now its showing that i have hacked the game so it wont let me play in a game.
seems to be happening to thousands of people on XP no one is sure why.

but i have been reading things and MW2 has now become the most hacked game of all time. i think they are trying to prove a point now cos the reason the went with steam was so that this wouldn't happen "

MY FRIEND IS A NOVICE TO GAMES ONLINE , so he just let steam decide which server he would lay on. so lets get this right... STEAM HAS SENT HIM INTO A HACKED MW2 SERVER and has now BANNED HIS ASS...HMMMMmmmm

Vectrum , if you hadnt got it sorted yet, my friend had the problem below, he was told to press on PRESTIGE and he got to play the game again but, but but...he still lost his levels... now how good is that , Steam puts him into a Hacked game, loses all his rank , couldnt play the game for 24 hours and then has to play without any stats...hmmmm as i said, " WAY TO GO STEAM "
