Also, As for the GTX470 .... This card will set you back £300+.

For that price you could get a PowerColor HD 5850 PCS 1GB GDDD5 (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/199769) for less than £230, Very similar in performance.

I dont find that very fair! .. They have took the best card nVIDIA has to offer and only using ATI's second fastest card!... They only done that becasue they know the 5970 would piss on that GTX480 lol.

Is it worth paying £429 for a nvidia card that performs close to a ATI card that costs £100 less?

What's not fair is compare Nvidia 480 GTX with one GPU and the ATI 5970 with dual GPU.Of course it's much faster then the new nvidia.

My point was than the best card nVIDIA have to offer is still not as fast at the best card ATI have to offer for not an awful lot more. :1 (90):

:1 (67):Well Ive had a refund on my broken card today, and now cant decide what to buy.
I am prepared (she says I can) to go for a 480 -but like you say very expensive.
Im kind of against going the ATI route but not sure why, never had a bad experience with ATI or anything like that. Perhaps Im just buying in to the hype thats at the start of evry game saying nvidia..

My head actually hurts from being so indecisive on this, help
