well, i am having the same problem with all my games now... COD4 .. WAW and BC2 . SO ITS EITHER A GRAPHICS driver issue or it wont get thro online mode.

What version directX do use in your settings.ini?
)You can find the file at your documents in the BFBC2 map)
I had the same problem, after changing it to DxVersion=9 the problem was fixed.

Sounds like an issue I was having until RED mentioned a change in my broadband settings, change the uPnP, if its on turn it off, if its off turn it on.
Haven't got a clue what its all about but it worked for me , and I think I was having very similar issues.

well if its ur graffix card how come the games play ok in single player unless all the extra action from online play is causing it to overheat,,try running a temprature program to see what temps are being reached

right i done a hwmonitor watch and in idle it is 40 to 48c but playing game goes from 60 highest i saw was 78c so i turned the fan on the card from 40% to 60% seems i can play a little longer..

How long do you have that graphics card and how dusty is it? maybe cleaning the fan and cooler is an option?

okay guys n gals , i resolved the issue without having to upgrade my card altho i will need to soon and i reinstalled WIN7 so i got nothing left .. it was my bios.. the graphics setting was on extreme instead of Auto settings , and its not compatable with my card type.. when i changed it to auto all is well.
So if anyone keeps getting Booted from game to Desktop.. try looking at the graphics setting in your motherboard bios.
Thanks for helping out guys i really needed it...
